Back to Black

Alexander Wang's S/S 2011 was a shocking presentation. It wasn't the makeup. It wasn't the paint in the models' hair. It wasn't the utilitarian theme. No, for the first time in, well, ever, New York's coolest kid produced a collection entirely devoid of the colour black. However, those who were upset about this can rejoice: Wang has brought black back for his Pre-Fall 2011 collection! Oh, and just a side note: the Brasch had and impressive 12 looks in his look book! Also featured was French model, Aymeline Valade. Here are Caro's looks!

One of the things we love about Alexander Wang is how he has a certain affinity for that which is effortlessly chill. This collection retains that, but he also appears to be going for a more polished, professional look than we've expected in the past. In addition, the feminine touches in the clothes (notably in Caroline's first look, but also through out the whole collection) are more pronounced than we are used to. Of course, he sets that off with the masculine suit towards the end, and then edges the whole thing up by adding leather elements, like the tunic dress. Trust Wang to get it right every time.

  1. sooooo happy she did wang! i'm hoping she gets some more editorial work because she had such a great season but she seems to have gotten very little print wise as a result?
